I have enjoyed my time working for Laura and Joanna at the UGA Athens-Clarke Extension office. I had my own cubicle to do all my work such as putting the farmers market carts together, and other tasks. I am thankful that I was picked to intern with the office, and gain experiences from them.
One of my biggest takeaways during this internship is to always be open minded, and to go with the flow because you never know what you will be assigned or what will happen throughout the day. My first day I had no clue what was planned, but Laura took me to Pittard Park in Winterville, Georgia to take me to meet Sherrie, who is head of running Marigold Market. Laura told me about Marigold Market in the car, and Sherrie explained it more to me and what she does. That day I thought I would be doing office work, but I went with the flow, and ended up going somewhere I had never been before.
In addition, being able to work at Marigold Market has made a huge impact on developing my professional communication for the reason that I was constantly talking to people in the community that were visiting my booth from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. almost every Saturday. I became more effective and efficient in talking to the community about the produce I was selling for the farmers. I also talked to various vendors about who I was, and that I was an intern for the summer.

Moreover, I have learned more about what extension is, and what they do. I also learned more about myself, and who I want to be in the future. I am gaining confidence in the work that I create, and I am ready for my next opportunity whether it may be at UGA or after I graduate. I know that I am able to handle the tasks that are at hand no matter what.
